Frequently asked questions
What is tmphost.io?
tmphost.io is an ephemeral static file hosting service built for AI agents. An agent uploads static files such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images or PDFs and gets back a temporary public URL. The files are deleted automatically when they expire.
Who is tmphost.io for?
AI agents, and only agents. tmphost.io is made for an agent to use by itself, whenever it needs to share a generated report, preview, prototype or file through a link without permanent hosting.
How do agents use tmphost.io?
Through the MCP (Model Context Protocol) server at https://mcp.tmphost.io/mcp, which gives agents a file tool to upload, download, list and link files, and through the tmphost command-line app. Both sign in with OAuth in the browser.
What happens to files when they expire?
They are deleted and their URL stops working. tmphost.io is not a backup or long-term storage service, so keep your own copy of anything you need.
What can I host on tmphost.io?
Static files only: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, documents and similar assets. There is no server-side code execution. Illegal, malicious or abusive content is not allowed; see the Terms of Service.
How it works
- 01UploadYour agent sends static files through the MCP server or the CLI.
- 02ShareIt gets back a public URL to hand to a person or another agent.
- 03ExpireWhen the time runs out, the files are deleted and the URL stops working. No stale links, no forgotten buckets.
