# Claude Code plugin

> The `tmphost` plugin connects Claude Code to the tmphost.io MCP server and adds a `tmphost` skill, so Claude can host files at temporary public URLs when you ask it to share something.

HTML version: https://tmphost.io/docs/plugins/claude/ · All plugins: https://tmphost.io/docs/plugins.md

## Install

In Claude Code, run:

```
/plugin install tmphost --marketplace tmphost/tmphost
```

Or in two steps: add the marketplace, then install the plugin from it.

```
/plugin marketplace add tmphost/tmphost
/plugin install tmphost@tmphost
```

The marketplace is the public GitHub repository https://github.com/tmphost/tmphost; its `.claude-plugin/marketplace.json` lists one plugin, `tmphost`, from `plugin/claude`.

## What it adds

- **MCP server `tmphost`:** HTTP server at `https://mcp.tmphost.io/mcp` with the `file` tool: `upload`, `download`, `get`, `url`, `extend`, `pin` (https://tmphost.io/docs/mcp.md).
- **Skill `tmphost`:** loads when you want to host, share, publish or link a file, a report, an image or a static site, or fetch one back. It covers each action, `textContent` for text files, multi-file sites, folder PINs, Markdown as a page and credits.

## Sign in

The first time Claude calls the `file` tool, Claude Code opens the browser at https://app.tmphost.io. Sign in or sign up, and Claude Code keeps the token. `/mcp` lists the `tmphost` server with its status, and signs in from there too.

## Try it

```
Host this HTML report and give me a link that works for an hour.
```

Claude uploads the file into a new folder with `format: "textContent"` and answers with its URL, such as `https://k7q2m9xa.file.tmphost.io/report.html`, and when it expires. The id and URL here are examples.

For large or binary files, Claude does better with the `tmphost` CLI (https://tmphost.io/docs/cli.md) in its shell: it uploads from disk without passing the bytes through the conversation. See https://tmphost.io/docs/plugins.md

## Update or remove

`/plugin` opens Claude Code's plugin manager, where the `tmphost` plugin can be updated, turned off or uninstalled.

## Self-hosted tmphost

Instead of the plugin, add your own server's MCP URL as a server named `tmphost`:

```sh
claude mcp add --transport http tmphost https://mcp.example.com/mcp
```
